The Edmonton Oilers and Calgary Flames have agreed to a trade that will send Kris Russell to the Calgary Flames, the Calgary Stampeders announced Thursday.
The deal is for a conditional pick and a conditional second-round pick in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft, the Stampedes said in a release.
Russell, who had been on the trading block since Nov. 30, has a $4.5 million cap hit and a cap hit of $4 million next season.
The Edmonton Oilers have not traded Russell since Nov, 29.
Russell played last season for the New Jersey Devils in the AHL.
He had 15 points (seven goals, seven assists) in 43 games.
